Chairperson Carvey called the Green Space Advisory Board meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

A question was raised regarding the need for the same Board members who were present 
at the June 26th meeting should be present to approve the June 26, 2007 minutes.   
 
According to parliamentary procedure, any quorum of the voting body present can approve 
any set of minutes.  However, the June 26th minutes were postponed and will be 
presented at the next GSAB meeting for approval.

The Board consensus was that members Windscheif and Funk would work with Ms. Pat 
Petitto, Property Acquisition Agent, to contact the three (3) property owners, namely 
White, Harding Estates, and Rochdale to determine their interest in being nominated for 
Green Space acquisition at this time.

Board members were informed that a Public Hearing would be held on Wednesday, 
September 5, 2007 during the City Council Meeting regarding the three (3) property 
acquisitions, namely East Childress, West Childress and 1460 Mead Road.  Board 
members were asked to encourage residents to appear at the Council Meeting.  Member 
Windscheif will develop a short presentation for the Public Hearing.

generous donation of land to the City of Rochester Hills

GSAB Promotion & Media Sub-Committee
A press release will be written to honor Nino & Michelle Tocco for their generous land 
donation.  A presentation will be made at an upcoming Rotary Club meeting.  Also see 
Legislative File # 2007-0057.

GSAB Grant Writing Sub-Committee
Member McGoldrick reported that she had met with Mr. James Keglovitz, Senior Planner, 
Okland County Planning & Economic Development Services, in regard to grant options 
available to the City of Rochester Hills. 
 
Ms. McGoldrick distributed a letter dated August 24, 2007 from Mr. Keglovitz that stated 
Oakland County's support of the grant request for the Mead Road property acquisition for 
meaningful open space.

GSAB Visionary Sub-Committee
Member Robinson informed members that he had discussions with the Rochester-Avon 
Historical Society regarding signage for land acquisitions and that the Board should 
consider some kind of signage for the Tocco property donation.

GSAB Stewardship Sub-Committee
Chairperson Carvey reported that he met with Mayor Barnett regarding stewardship funding 
coming from the GSAB millage and was hopeful that it could be worked out.
NEW BUSINESS
Member Windscheif suggested that the Board review the Property Interest Acquisition 
Process now that members have had the experience with the first round of property 
acquisitions.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
A request was made that, if possible, more notice be given to GSAB members when 
there is an item on a Council meeting agenda.

There being no further business to discuss, Chairperson Carvey adjourned the meeting at 
8:15 PM.
