Member Tilove commented that the fourth paragraph‎, ‎first sentence under file ‎
2012‎-‎0443‎, ‎Discuss Stewardship Management Plan‎, ‎did not explain that ‎
Member Phillips did not think accessibility should be a primary focus of ‎
stewardship‎.  ‎Members discussed it and agreed to postpone the approval of the ‎
October ‎22‎, ‎2013 ‎minutes until Member Phillips was present‎.  ‎No motion was ‎
made‎.‎

Discuss Stewardship Management Plan‎
November ‎5‎, ‎2013 ‎election ‎- ‎next steps‎
 
The green space ballot question was successfully passed to allow the use the ‎
Green Space Millage for stewardship for open spaces‎.  ‎Members brainstormed ‎
what the next steps might be‎.  ‎Discussion included‎:‎
 
*  ‎Define the scope‎
 
*  ‎Develop the inventory‎
 
*  ‎Decide what data to collect and how to measure effectiveness‎
 
*  ‎Set up a perpetual long‎-‎term fund to use interest only for stewardship‎
 
*  ‎Develop a request for proposal to seek bids from professional organizations ‎
who could provide an assessment and a management plan‎
 
*  ‎Develop a scoring and ranking methodology in order to prioritize parcels and ‎
projects and develop a five‎-‎year plan‎
 
*  ‎Develop a budgetary process‎
 
Member Tilove distributed an invasive management plan she found online from ‎
the Huron‎-‎Clinton Metropolitan Authority ‎(‎Metroparks‎) ‎for a reference‎.  ‎It ‎
describes invasive plant management priorities and contains an invasive plant ‎
species prioritization table‎.‎
 
Member Peterson volunteered to set up a meeting with Mr‎. ‎Mike Hartner‎, ‎
Director of Parks ‎& ‎Forestry to discuss the next steps‎.  ‎Members Gauthier and ‎
Graham volunteered to participate in that meeting‎.‎

Members expressed their thanks to Chairperson Carvey for being the driving ‎
force behind the successful passage of the stewardship ballot question‎.‎
