CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairperson Funk called the Green Space Advisory Board meeting to 
order at 7:05 PM.

Vice Chairperson Funk distributed an updated GSAB membership list and 
copies of an appreciation letter to Leo Oriet, GSAB Youth Representative.

GSAB Administrative & Strategic Sub-Committee
Vice Chairperson Funk briefly recapped the following:
 
     -  The work plan will be discussed at the July GSAB meeting.
 
     -  The resolution for the proposed staggered terms is ready to be forwarded 
to Council.
 
     -  The Harding Road presentation to Council was rescheduled to June 30, 
2008.

GSAB Communication, Promotion & Media Sub-Committee

2008-0132
GSAB Property Nominations & Acquisitions Sub-Committee
Discussion commenced regarding the Harding Road nominated property.  Mr. 
Mike Hartner, Director of Parks & Forestry summarized the grant process after 
Council accepts the GSAB recommendation and authorizes the Administration 
to begin negotiations with the land owner(s).  The grant application deadline to 
the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is August 1, 2008.  
However, land can be purchased outright with or without a grant or matching 
funds.  The Harding Road property fits a very special criteria for trailways, 
wetlands, steep slopes, and natural features which the DNR allows extra points 
for eligible grant monies.

GSAB Stewardship & Advocacy Sub-Committee
Member Carvey reported that the subcommittee met with Ms. Heather 
Huffstutler, Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy.  The goal is to draft a 
proposed managment plan using the Rivercrest property as a model and 
present the plan to Council with a recommendation in August.
 
Mr. Hartner suggested that any plan be presented to the Mayor prior to City 
Council.  He also briefly explained the City's budget process.

NEW BUSINESS

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Hartner distributed updated Clinton River Trail brochures and briefly 
summarized the Friends of the Clinton River Trail and related groups that 
compose the Oakland Trails Advisory Council.  There will eventually be 
approximately 180 miles of continuous trailways in Southeast Michigan in the 
next few years.
