GSAB Property Nominations ‎& ‎Acquisitions Sub‎-‎Committee‎
Vice Chairperson Gauthier distributed an updated internal log that he maintains‎.  ‎
It now reflects the two parcels on Adams Road that GSAB will be recommending ‎
for acquisition and also shows the three recent parcels evaluated but not ‎
recommended at this time‎.‎

Vice Chairperson Gauthier noted the two dates for City Council meetings are ‎
December ‎3 ‎and December ‎10‎.  ‎Members Gauthier‎, ‎Graham‎, ‎Peterson‎, ‎and ‎
Phillips met last week to formulate the presentation‎.  ‎Member Phillips presented ‎
the draft presentation to the Board for review‎.  ‎Members also discussed ‎
possible questions posed by City Council‎.  ‎It was determined that the city map ‎
should be updated to display public open space‎, ‎private subdivision open ‎
space‎, ‎and current green space areas‎.  ‎Staff will forward a request for an ‎
updated map to the City‎'‎s MIS Department‎.  ‎The presentation would need to be ‎
finalized and forwarded to Mr‎. ‎Hartner‎'‎s department by November ‎20‎, ‎2012 ‎in ‎
order to meet the deadline for the December ‎3 ‎City Council meeting‎.‎

Discuss Stewardship Management Plan‎
Member Peterson began by noting that City Council would like GSAB to ‎
formulate a stewardship management plan should funds become available‎.  ‎He ‎
suggested taking a business plan approach‎.  ‎The Niswander baseline ‎
assessment will be useful to extract key items from the studies performed on ‎
current city‎-‎owned green space parcels‎.  ‎The stewardship pilot projects ‎
conducted to date have provided good information on the work required to rid ‎
invasive plants‎.  ‎Obviously‎, ‎more research will be necessary‎.  ‎
 
It was noted that a ballot initiative and a vote of the residents would be required ‎
to repurpose any existing Green Space Millage funds‎.  ‎Consideration should be ‎
given to the remaining desired open space parcels that have not been ‎
nominated or acquired to date‎.  ‎A stewardship management plan should be ‎
GSAB‎'‎s focus in ‎2013‎.‎
