CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Duistermars called the meeting to order at 7:38 PM.

Committee Member Walterhouse provided previous notice he would be unable to attend |

A motion was made by Formanczyk, seconded by Raschke, that this matter be |
Approved. |
Resolved that the Public Safety Committee (PS) concur with the recommendation |
of the Community Development & Viability Committee and appoint Adam Alleman, |
Andy LeBlanc and Andrew Roscoe as the 2004-2005 Youth Representatives to the |
PS Committee for a term to begin September 1, 2004 and end August 31, 2005. |

Administration Request regarding EMS staff requirements at special |
businesses that involve intensive physical activities |
The Committee briefly discussed an incident regarding a fatality at the Lifetime Fitness |
Center in Rochester Hills concerning local, county or state regulations of emergency |
medical staff requirements. |
A motion was made by Formanczyk, seconded by Raschke, that this matter be |
Approved and Referred to the Fire Department. |
Resolved that the Public Safety Committee requests Chief Walterhouse provide |
information regarding any current ordinance or law at the city, county or state |
level concerning EMS staff requirements at special businesses that involve |
intensive physical activities; and |
Be It Further Resolved that Chief Walterhouse present his findings at the next |
Public Safety Committee Meeting. |

Bike Path and Street Stop Signs
Ms. Rashcke was not able to attend the last Advisory Traffic & Safety Board Meeting, |
therefore there was no update. The Committee briefly discussed their concerns |
regarding traffic safety for joggers, bikers and motorists. |
It was suggested that Committee Members observe how joggers, bikers and motorists |
navigate intersections connecting bike pathways as they drive through the City. It was |
also suggested to contact the City's Ordinance Enforcement Officer to report any trees |
or bushes, etc. that create visual impairments for bike path users. |
NEXT MEETING DATE
There is no meeting scheduled for September due to the Labor Day Holiday. The next |
Regular Meeting is scheduled for October 4, 2004, 7:30 PM. |
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Chairperson Duistermars adjourned the |
meeting at 7:59 PM |
