CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Windscheif called the Green Space Advisory Board meeting to 
order at 7:19 p.m.

Resolved that the Green Space Advisory Board hereby approves the Minutes of 
the Regular Meeting of October 26, 2010 as presented. 
COMMUNICATIONS
Councilman Nathan Klomp recapped the City Council appointments to fill six 
GSAB members' terms that were to expire December 31, 2010.
 
Dahlvin Peterson, Lynn Loebs and Beth Tilove were re-appointed for a 
three-year term to expire December 31, 2013.  Incoming members are Richard 
Graham, Adam Kochenderfer and Samantha Phillips who were appointed for a 
two-year term to expire December 31, 2012. Outgoing members are Lorraine 
McGoldrick, Linda Raschke and William Windscheif.
 
Mr. Mike Hartner, Director of Parks & Forestry, will send information packets to 
the new members prior to the January meeting and offer to meet with them if 
they choose.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Chairperson Windscheif noted that there were no members of the public in 
attendance.

Update regarding any nominated properties
Sheldon/Mead Road Property
 
Mr. Hartner provided an update regarding the Sheldon/Mead grant.  Notification 
has been received from the Department of Natural Resources & Environment 
(DNRE) that the two property appraisals have been reviewed.  The City will be 
authorized to begin negotiations.  The appraisals were reviewed by the state 
appraiser to determine the fair market value which dictates the grant amount 
which was approved for up to $500,000 or 50% of the fair market value.  The 
state appraisal came in less than originally estimated, therefore, the grant may 
be less than $500,000 which is still quite significant.
 
"319" Conservation Easement Grant
 
Roger Moore, City Surveryor, reported that the contract is going forward to be 
finalized with the DNRE.

GSAB Communication, Promotion & Media Sub-Committee
Ms. Michelle Thorpe, Rochester Hills Government Youth Council (RHGYC), 
provided a update regarding a proposed earth day project named Green Space 
Discovery Hike.  It would be held Saturday, April 23, 2011. The goal is to guide 
walkers along the Clinton River Trail from Avon Road to Diversion Street and 
back to Avon Road to discover the City's Green Space properties acquired to 
date.  Check points will be manned by volunteers who will also punch a 
"discovery card" that can be entered into a raffle when the walk is completed, 
which should take about one hour.  Discussions will be held with the local police 
for road crossing assistance and local Boy Scout groups to obtain volunteers.  
The walk will also be promoted among the local schools.
 
The following motion made by Gerry Carvey and seconded by Tim 
Gauthier was unanimously supported:
 
Resolved that the GSAB hereby supports the Green Space Discovery Hike.
 
Mr. Hartner added that Lance DeVoe, the City's Naturalist Ranger, and Member 
Douglas have offered to guide volunteers on the walk in advance of the event to 
highlight points of interest.
 
Board members thanked Ms. Thorpe and the sub-committee for their 
enthusiasm and great idea.

GSAB Property Nominations & Acquisitions Sub-Committee
Mr. Gauthier had nothing to report at this time.

GSAB Stewardship & Advocacy Sub-Committee
Mr. Carvey reported a staff turnover at the Six Rivers Conservancy and that the 
Stewardship sub-committee will work on a report in January.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
As the outgoing chairperson, Mr. Windscheif wished the board members much 
success as he bid a fond farewell.  He stated it has been a privilege and honor 
to serve on the Green Space Advisory Board for the past five years; the 
process has been an important passion for him since it began with the Save 
Our Space project.  He stated that the accomplishments achieved by the team 
over the past five years are one of the most important activities that can be 
done to preserve the character of Rochester Hills for future generations.   
 
On behalf of the board, Vice Chairperson Peterson thanked Mr. Windscheif for 
his great leadership, inspiration and involvement in the City.  He also 
acknowledged outgoing members Lorraine McGoldrick and Linda Raschke for 
their fine service and dedication.
