Proclamation in recognition of Eagle Scout Jacob Lowder for his outstanding achievement in planning, implementing and completing his Eagle Scout Project at Veterans Memorial Pointe

Whereas, Boy Scouts of America provides young men with opportunities to become proficient outdoorsmen, learn skills, and participate in community activities; and
Whereas, Young men, who master scouting skills, dedicate their efforts to upholding the Boy Scout Pledge and serve their community with honor, can attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting; and
Whereas, Jacob Lowder, Boy Scout Troop 298, planned, organized, and executed a major service project at Veterans Memorial Pointe. Jacob power washed the gazebo, the small bridge, and all brick walkways. He replaced damaged cedar floorboards in the gazebo and re-stained both the gazebo and bridge. He edged around the brick walkways, filled gaps with sand, and re-sealed the bricks; and
Whereas, In addition to planning, organizing, and raising the necessary funds, Jacob inspired 38 volunteers to work approximately 188 hours on this project; and
Whereas, Jacob's hard work and dedication to this restoration project will allow Veterans Memorial Pointe to continue to be a place of beauty in our community, as well as a place of honor for reflection and recognition of veterans who have served our country.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Rochester Hills hereby recognize and congratulate Jacob Lowder on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and offer our sincere best wishes for his future.
