Proclamation in Recognition of Eagle Scouts Chris and Matt Wilson for their outstanding achievement in working together to complete their Eagle Scout Project of restoring and showcasing a 1911 Road Grader

Whereas, two brothers, Chris and Matt Wilson from Boy Scout Troop 123 worked together on their Eagle Project. They worked to restore and showcase a 1911 Road Grader for everyone to enjoy; and
Whereas, Chris worked on the 1911 Hubert Grader, by first getting it to move again! He had to free up some of the rusted machinery. He removed the rust and old paint from the frame and removed the rotted wooden work deck. After removing all the rust and old paint, the grader frame had to be primed and painted. The wooden work deck was replaced using trex wood; and
Whereas, once the restoration was complete, the grader needed the perfect spot to showcase it. Matt worked on prepping and pouring a foundation for the grader to sit on. He installed a 45' split rail fence, large decorative rocks and he planted landscaping around the fence to complete the project; and
Whereas, both brothers had to plan, organize and raise all of the necessary funds needed to purchase their supplies and complete their projects. The 1911 Hubert Grader sits proudly at the DPS Facility at 511 E. Auburn Road.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills recognize Matt and Chris Wilson for their time, effort and skill in providing a foundation and restoring a 1911 Hubert Grader.
