Proposed Charter Amendment regarding Council Initiated Referendum and Advisory Questions

Resolved that the City Council of Rochester Hills seeks to amend Section 2.12 of the City Charter as follows:
Section 2.12A Council Initiated Referendum
The Council may, by two-thirds vote of its members, submit any proposed ordinance to a referendum for adoption or rejection at any regular or special election, in the same manner and with the same force and effect as provided in this Charter for submission on petition. The referendum election shall be held not less than sixty (60) days from the date of the Council meeting at which the ordinance is ordered submitted to the electors.
