Proclamation in Recognition of Lisa Cummins for her selection as 2011 Michigan Public Purchasing Officers Association's Buyer of the Year
Body
Whereas, during Lisa's 4.5 years in public purchasing she has been a dynamic influence in public procurement with her high ethical standards and enthusiasm for the profession; and
Whereas, Lisa has served on the Michigan Public Purchasing Officers Association Board of Directors, acted as Professional Development Chairperson, brought several valuable programs forward to benefit the membership, formulated scholarship criteria, and mentored many MPPOA members as they worked to achieve certification; and
Whereas, Lisa enhanced her education with the completion of her Master's Degree and was promoted to Senior Purchasing Analyst for the City; and
Whereas, Lisa has actively supported cooperative efforts with other communities, taking the lead in several procurements, including heavy duty truck parts, mowers, tractor-loaders, concrete saws and hydraulic parts; and
Whereas, Lisa has collaborated, developed and awarded revenue generating contracts to benefit the City of Rochester Hills including a national contract for sewer trucks and a local contract for vending machines; and
Whereas, Lisa participates in the City's Relay for Life Program, chairs the Nutrition Committee for the Wellness Program and exhibits her athletic and competitive nature as the "star player" in the Rochester/Rochester Hills annual football game; and
Whereas, Lisa is married to Matt and they have a five-year old son, Nathanial, and are looking forwarded to welcoming a baby girl in early January;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Rochester Hills hereby recognize and congratulate Lisa Cummins as the recipient of 2011 Michigan Public Purchasing Officers Association's Buyer of the Year Award.
