National Physical Therapy Month
Whereas, the American Physical Therapy Association has designated October as National Physical Therapy Month; and
Whereas, the theme for this year's celebration, "Physical Therapy: Your Health. Our Hands," truly reflects a "hands on" profession; and
Whereas, dedicated and skilled physical therapists, being committed to better health for all, help citizens lead more productive and functional lives through the benefit of physical therapy rehabilitation; and
Whereas, in honor of this celebration, HealthQuest Physical Therapy and Wellness Center of Rochester Hills is encouraging Rochester Hills community members to get their "hearts pumping" by starting a walking program with family members, friends, neighbors or their favorite pet!
Now, Therefore, I, Pat Somerville, Mayor of the City of Rochester Hills, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2005 as "PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH" in the City of Rochester Hills and urge all public officials and private citizens to join with the physical therapy profession to secure better health care for all our citizens.
