Proclamation in Recognition of the 90th Anniversary of the Rochester Tuesday Musicale

Whereas, in 1924 a group of women gathered at Rochester High School to organize a music club with the purpose of promoting music in the community. Now known as the Rochester Tuesday Musicale, members consist of men and women who are both musicians and non-musicians alike; and
Whereas, the Rochester Tuesday Musicale has always been an outstanding service organization in the community who spreads joy with their musical gifts through their annual Community Christmas Concert, sing-a-longs at several retirement and nursing homes, and sponsors the Musicale Vocal Ensemble for senior citizens; and
Whereas, the Rochester Tuesday Musicale has worked diligently to provide scholarships to area high school music students and has raised over $67,000 since 1989 to benefit these students in their pursuit of higher education; and
Whereas, the City of Rochester Hills proudly recognizes and celebrates the 90th anniversary of this wonderful organization who has contributed so much to this community.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills hereby offer our sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Rochester Tuesday Musicale on the occasion of your 90th Anniversary.
