In Recognition of Ed Leafdale for being named the 2009 Employee of the Year
Body
Whereas, Ed Leafdale began working for Avon Township on January 28, 1974; and
Whereas, during the past 35 years, Ed has worked as a Laborer, Crew Leader, and promoted to General Foreman on October 1, 1984; and
Whereas, the city has received numerous letters from residents commending Ed for his professionalism, dedication and assistance; and
Whereas, in April 2001, the Rochester Elks recognized Ed as the "Citizen of the Year", in 2004, Ed was honored as State of Michigan Veteran of the Year, and in 2005, he was selected as the Grand Marshall of the Greater Rochester Parade; and
Whereas, throughout Rochester Hills, Ed is known for his humanitarian efforts on behalf of Veterans and Veterans Memorial Pointe;
Whereas, for the last few years, Ed has volunteered both his talent and time to lead the city employees Relay for Life Team, Eddie and the City Cruisers; and
Whereas, Ed has been described as caring, creative, capable and conscientious.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that I, Bryan K. Barnett, Mayor of Rochester Hills hereby congratulate Ed Leafdale on being selected the 2009 Employee of the Year, and thank him for his hard work and dedication to the City of Rochester Hills.
