Request to Approve the issuance of a Request for Proposal for Phase II work on 1927 Van Hoosen Calf Barn at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm

Whereas, Phase I work, including demolition, concrete, structural steel framing and metal fabrications, rough and finish carpentry, waterproofing, weather membranes, wood shingles, wood siding, joint sealers, rough plumbing, wood siding, doors, windows, electrical, insulation, and concrete stoops and sidewalk, was completed in May 2013; and
Whereas, Phase I costs of $278,000.00 was covered by private funding; and
Whereas, the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm Preservation and Adaptive Use Master Plan includes Phase II work; and
Whereas, the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm Preservation and Adaptive Use Master Plan was adopted by Council on May 19, 2014; and
Whereas, Phase II work will include insulation, interior finishes, HVAC, restrooms, plumbing, and electrical for approximately $311,000.00; and
Whereas, all funds have again been privately raised and have been deposited at the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester;
Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Rochester Hills City Council does hereby approve the pursuit of Request for Proposal for Phase II work on the adaptive reuse of the 1927 Calf Barn at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm.
