Proclamation of Support for the Sister City relationship between Rochester Hills and Tuz, Montenegro

Whereas, the "People to People" Program was initiated by the President of the United States of America in 1956 to encourage greater friendship and understanding between the United States and other nations through direct personal contact; and
Whereas, many countries have endorsed this program and have joined with numerous cities of the United States in adopting and implementing programs for the exchange of ideas and visitations between people of different countries; and
Whereas, the Municipality of Tuz, Montenegro and the City of Rochester Hills, Michigan, through its established governmental body, recognize and endorse this program as a means of establishing a lasting friendship between the people of Tuz, Montenegro and the people of Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Now Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills, Michigan hereby endorse the invitation extended by the government and the people of Tuz, Montenegro to join with them in becoming International Sister Cities.
