Proclamation in Recognition of Captain Bart Wilson

 

Body

Whereas, the Mayor and City Council wish to express their sincere appreciation to Captain Bart Wilson for his steady leadership as Commander of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Rochester Hills Substation from 2020-2022; and

 

Whereas, Captain Wilson began his career in law enforcement more than 30 years ago with the Grand Blanc City Police Department in Genesee County, joined the Oakland County Sheriff's Office in 1996, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2001, Lieutenant in 2014, and to Captain in 2020; and

 

Whereas, he was first assigned to the Rochester Hills Substation as a Patrol Lieutenant and was then assigned to the IFS Division to oversee the Fugitive Apprehension Team, Computer Crimes Unit, Warrants Division and Special Investigations Unit; and

 

Whereas, in June 2020, Captain Wilson took over as the City's Substation Commander and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Rochester Hills Substation; and

 

Whereas, during his two years in this role, the world navigated through a global pandemic, a criminal justice reform movement swept over our nation, and our community was devastated by the shooting at Oxford High School; and

 

Whereas, in the face of uniquely challenging situations, Captain Wilson led with integrity and resolve.  He was an outstanding Commander of the Rochester Hills Substation.

 

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills hereby recognize and thank Captain Bart Wilson for his leadership over the Rochester Hills Substation, and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.
