Proclamation in Recognition of Eagle Scout Jacob Bertolet for his outstanding achievement in planning, implementing and completing his Eagle Scout Project at the City of Rochester Hills Department of Public Service Facility

Whereas, Boy Scouts of America provides young men with opportunities to become proficient outdoorsmen, learn skills, and participate in community activities; and
Whereas, Young men, who master scouting skills, dedicate their efforts to upholding the Boy Scout Pledge and serve their community with honor, can attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting; and
Whereas, Jacob Bertolet, Boy Scout Troop 123, planned, organized, and executed a major service project at the Rochester Hills Department of Public Service Facility. Jacob designed, built, and installed a bridge connecting the building area with the parking lot, eliminating the need for people to walk around the lot to enter the building; and
Whereas, In building the bridge, Jacob worked closely with Rochester Hills Department of Public Service and Building Department personnel. Jacob had to adapt his plans to Building Department codes and inspections, which meant he had to redesign the bridge to meet those codes; and
Whereas, Jacob enlisted the help of 36 volunteers who logged over 384 hours in planning, fundraising, and executing this project.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Rochester Hills hereby recognize and congratulate Jacob Bertolet on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and offer our sincere best wishes for his future.
