Proclamation in Recognition of Alfred Murphy

Whereas, Alfred Murphy, a resident of Rochester Hills and decorated World War II veteran is being recognized for his heroics with the Distinguished Flying Cross on Monday, April 21, 2014; and
Whereas, Mr. Murphy is receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross nearly 70 years after his service and will add it to the seven air medals and eight battle stars he has already received; and
Whereas, Mr. Murphy is 92-years-old and resides at the American House Village in Rochester Hills. He is very active and enjoys speaking to school children about his war experiences and writing poetry.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills proudly recognize Alfred Murphy, World War II veteran and express gratitude for Mr. Murphy's years of service in defending our nation's freedom.
