Request for Approval to exempt the City of Rochester Hills from the requirements of Public Act 152 of 2011 for Benefit Year 2023
Body
Whereas, Public Act 152 mandates specified health care premium contributions by City employees unless the governing body elects to exempt employees by a two-thirds majority vote; and
Whereas, City medical plan premiums will have a five percent (5%) decrease, compared to a proposed seven percent, +7% increase budgeted for 2023 and well below the five percent, +5% annual target first established by City Council in 2013;
Resolved, that the Rochester Hills City Council authorizes that the City of Rochester Hills shall continue to be exempt from the requirements of Public Act 152 of 2011 for the 2023 plan year.
