Title

In Recognition of Mark McLocklin for being selected a 2012 Outstanding Employee

Body

Whereas, Mark McLocklin began working for Avon Township in 1979.  He became a Paid-on-Call (POC) Captain in the Fire Department in 2006. He is also an Ordinance Inspector in the Building Department; and

Whereas, as an Ordinance Inspector, Mark is required to exhibit a great deal of skill and patience when interacting with people who are sometimes very angry.  He not only has to deal with people that are unhappy about their neighbor’s yards, trees, signs, etc., but he must also work with upset residents and businesses when he is required to issue city code violations; and

Whereas, Mark takes the time to work with people and assist them whenever possible. He recently received a very nice thank you letter from the owner of a new business in the city, complimenting him on his assistance with the building process. They also mentioned that Mark represents the city very well in the field and is professional, polite and helpful.  As a POC, Mark is called upon to go to work at unusual hours and sometimes in the middle of the night. He loves what he does and serves the city very well in both positions; and.

Whereas, for many years, Mark has been very involved in the annual employee Christmas luncheon. He contacts Papa Joe’s Market and works diligently with their staff to select the menu, and he makes all the necessary food arrangements for the luncheon. He works hard helping to set up the food and beverages and cleaning up afterwards. Few people realize how important it is and how hard Mark really works to make certain the luncheon is a success; and

Whereas, Mark has also taken on additional work at the Mayor’s State of the City event. Again, Mark works with Papa Joe’s and Meijer to make sure the food arrives in a timely manner. He is also involved with setup and cleanup. Mark never complains about how much work is involved, and he is always cheerful and willing to go above and beyond in whatever job he is doing.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that I, Bryan K. Barnett, Mayor of Rochester Hills hereby congratulate Mark McLocklin on being selected as one of the 2012 Outstanding Employees, and express my thanks for his hard work and dedication to the City of Rochester Hills.
