Location: 655 Michelson, located west of John R, north of M-59, identified as Parcel Nos. 15-35-100-020 and 15-35-203-001, Zoned R-3, One Family Residential, and known as Rochester Golf Course. (The off premise sign is located at the southeast corner of Rochester Road at Nawakwa.)
Requests: Item 1
A variance of 13 feet in height for an existing nonconforming on-site sign, from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the maximum height of a ground sign to seven (7) feet. The existing nonconforming sign is at a height of twenty (20) feet.
Item 2
A variance of 210 square feet for an existing nonconforming on-site sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the maximum total area of a wall or ground sign to twenty (20) square feet. The existing nonconforming sign is 230 square feet in area.
Item 3
A variance of 5'6" in height for an existing nonconforming off-premise sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances, which limits the maximum height of ground signs to seven (7) feet. The existing nonconforming off-premise sign is 12'6" in height.
Item 4
A variance of 18.85 square feet in area for an existing nonconforming off-premise sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the maximum size of ground signs to twenty (20) square feet. The existing nonconforming off-premise sign is 38.85 square feet in area.
Item 5
A variance to allow two existing nonconforming ground signs, one on-site and one off-premises, from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the total number of signs allowed for this use to one.
Item 6
A variance to allow two existing nonconforming signs to remain in place after the date of December 31, 2004 from Section 4-17.07.05 Discontinuation of Nonconforming Signs; Amortization of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which states that a nonconforming sign shall not be placed, maintained, or displayed by a person on or after December 31, 2004. The existing signs are nonconforming due to height and area, and in the case of the off-premise sign location.

A variance of twelve (12) feet in height for a proposed new on-site sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the height of a pole sign to seven (7) feet. The proposed sign is at a height of 19 feet.
Item 8
A variance of 204 square feet in total area for a proposed new on-site sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the total area of a sign to twenty (20) feet. The proposed sign is 224 square feet.

A variance of 36 square feet for a proposed new off-premise sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A. Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the total number of signs to one. The proposed new off-premise sign is 36 square feet.
Item 10
A variance of 5'6" for a proposed new off-premise sign from Section 4-17.03.02.A. Signs Permitted on Recreational, Institutional, Public and Quasi-Public Premises of Chapter 4-17 of the Code of Ordinances which limits the maximum height for a sign to seven (7) feet. The proposed new off-premise sign is at a height of 12'6".
