Lance DeVoe discussed meeting with Cardno. The burn at Ruby wasn’t as successful as they wanted. They learned more about where burns will be most successful. Met at Cloverport to discuss the gulley and erosion, it would be a massive project to solve the problem. Talked about smaller projects they could do there to make an impact. Looked at Garlic Mustard sites in preparation for the volunteer events, many areas it had not come up yet. Discussion ensued.
Chairperson Janulis wanted to touch base on the goals. Encourages members to go out to the green spaces when able, to be the eyes and ears for the committee and administration. Janulis asked about the annual presentation to council. Dr. Bowyer suggests giving an update in June or waiting until next year, as there are not new council members unfamiliar with the Green Space Advisory Board. Member Morris mentioned having student groups complete some volunteer work cleaning up green spaces.

Discussed in staff report.
Lance DeVoe mentioned that it is close to Avondale Park but there isn’t any parking. It’s mostly wetland, about 9 acres, really filled with phragmites. The other portion is filled with buckthorn. DeVoe encourages everyone to walk it, there are some deer trails to follow. For the right price, it could be a great space. Discussion ensued. Chairperson Janulis also encouraged everyone to visit it. Dr. Bowyer mentioned having Laurie Taylor weigh in on the assessment.
