Chairperson Janulis called the Green Space Advisory Board meeting to order at 6:08 p.m.

Non-Voting members present: Lance DeVoe, Matt Einheuser, Ken Elwert and Susan Bowyer, Ph.D.
Non-Voting members absent: Aman Disanjh, Hannah Bennett, Aden Smith.
Others present: Gerald Carvey
Committee Members Jayson Graves, Dahlvin Peterson, Aman Disanjh, Hannah Bennett and Aden Smith provided previous notice that they would be unable to attend and asked to be excused.

Approval of Minutes - Regular Meeting - October 22, 2019

Matt Einheuser said Niswander has been working on Ruby, they planted and fenced the prairie to protect it. They attacked the buckthorn at Harding.
Einheuser worked to develope draft signage for the Green Space Ordinance. He is waiting for the ordinance to be codified to have the correct link on the sign. The signs will be consistent with the other Green Space and park signs. Discussion ensued.
Einheuser, along with a committee, provided recommendation to council for the stewardship contract. Throughout the interview process Cardno had a very structured process and partnership feel. They assist with grant writing, attend city council meetings as needed. Einheuser mentioned they would work on outreaching to surrounding homeowners. They are a large company so they will have access to more equipment and more staff with different areas of expertise. Discussion ensued.
Einheuser mentioned that Members Stephens and Bruce have renewed their positions. Andrea Merritt will be replacing Dahlvin Peterson in 2020.

Health Quest has expressed interest in Second Saturday Hikes.

Member Peterson was unable to attend the meeting. His service to the Green Space Advisory Board has been much appreciated.

Ken Elwert spoke about recognizing members. He thanked the whole committee and not just the long term members. Chairperson Janulis
spoke about Gerald Carvey and all the work he did to get the GSAB millage and then the committee operational. New members introduced themselves to Mr. Carvey. Discussion ensued.

Discussed 2019 goals in regards to what is complete and what should be continued. Discussion ensued. The following goals will be voted on at the January meeting.
1. Conduct a Winter Walk
2. Consolidation of Green Space Property Fact Sheets
a. Committee Chair, Terry Stephens. Members, Tim Gauthier and Andrea Merritt
3. Give update to City Council in May on 2020 events, goals and accomplishments.
4. Continue engagement and education of Green Space
a. Signs
b. Web update
c. News releases
d. Videos/Photos over time
e. OAK in the Hills at Spencer Park, May 2020
f. Second Saturday Hikes
5. Increase volunteer stewardship
a. Reach out to adjacent homes to help in Green Space clean-up
b. Annual cleanup day
6. River trip to view the Green Spaces
7. Improve access to Ruby, Cloverport and Childress Green Spaces.

Chairperson Janulis mentioned that officers would be elected at the January 2020 meeting.
Chairperson Janulis brought up the schedule for 2020. Meetings will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month, with the exception of November and December which would be on the 2nd Tuesday.
