Member Gauthier reported submitting a $1,000 grant application to the Kodak |

Foundation on July 15, 2009. The grant would provide seed money for a |
|
baseline stewardship assessment on the Harding Road property. He conveyed |
|
the grant application requirements to GSAB members and stated the Harding |
|
Road parcel fit the criteria well. The grant opportunity was discovered quickly |
|
and submitted through the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester on |
|
behalf of the Green Space Fund that is being administered by the Community |
|
Foundation. A September response is anticipated. The Board conveyed |
|
appreciation to members Gauthier and Carvey for meeting a short deadline. |

Mr. Mike Hartner, Director of Parks & Forestry, reported that he received written |
|
notification today (08-25-09) that the grant application submitted to the Michigan |
|
National Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) regarding the property acquisition for |
|
approximately 39.3 acres, located on the southeast corner of Sheldon and |
|
Mead Roads, has made the first cut by meeting the administrative review |
|
requirements. The grant application was for a 50% match of the true value of |
|
the property up to $510,000. A copy of the grant application was shared with |
|
Board members to review. Mr. Hartner paid compliments to city staff who |
|
worked diligently to provide thorough information. He stated the application has |
