| Vice Chairperson Peterson reported that the sub-committee, along with |

| Naturalist Lance DeVoe, met on October 22 to conduct a pilot project to remove |
|
| some invasive species called Buckthorn and Autumn Olive on the Harding |
|
| Road green space parcel. The project was scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 |
|
| p.m., however, the sub-committee was able to finish by 1:00 p.m. The project |
|
| revealed that a work team of five people was sufficient, with one person |
|
| operating a chain saw, followed by one person spraying the herbicide on the |
|
| stumps, followed by two to three people picking up the cuttings and placing them |
|
| in the truck bed. The project targeted the invasive species residing about 10 |
|
| feet either side of the trail. It was noted that a certified pesticide applicator is not |
|
| needed on site when a pre-mixed herbicide is used. |
