NOTICE OF MEETING CANCELLATION
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Act 267 of the 
Public Acts of 1976, that the Regular ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS Meeting of the City 
of Rochester Hills scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, 2010, has been CANCELLED.
Notice is hereby further given that the Public Hearing on the following matter, which 
was scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, WILL BE RESCHEDULED:
PUBLIC HEARING – FILE NO. 10-001   
Location:     Vacant parcel located on the north side of Winkler Mill Road, west of Washington 
Road, north of Runyon Road, Parcel Identification Number 15-01-227-017, zoned RE 
(Residential Estate).  
 
Request:     1.     A variance from Article 10, Chapter 1 of the Rochester Hills Code of 
Ordinances to allow an accessory structure (barn) to be constructed on a vacant parcel that 
does not contain a primary structure.  The Ordinance defines an accessory structure as:  “. . 
. customarily found in connection with, subordinate to, and located on the same lot or parcel 
as the principal use to which it is exclusively related.”  
 
     2.     A variance of 15 feet from Section 138-10.105(C) of the Rochester Hills Code of 
Ordinances which requires an accessory structure otherwise allowable under Section 138-
10.105 to be set back at least 20 feet from any side or rear lot lines.  
 
     3.     A request that the Zoning Board of Appeals permit an exception to the height of an 
accessory structure pursuant to Section 138-10.105(D) (Exceptions) of the Rochester Hills 
Code of Ordinances, which allows an accessory structure located on a lot designated under 
Article II of Chapter 118 (Historical Preservation Ordinance) to be constructed to a height 
greater than what is otherwise allowed subject to certain specifications.
The next Regular Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting is scheduled to be held on 
Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the City Municipal Offices, 1000 Rochester 
Hills Drive, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
