Final Report and Recommendations from the Citizen Appointment Process Technical Review Committee

Whereas, the Citizen Appointment Process Technical Review Committee (CAPTRC) completed the responsibilities it was charged with; and
Whereas, this committee provided their final report and recommendations to City Council at their regular meeting on August 24, 2020; and
Whereas, the committee recommended dissolving the Citizen Appointment Process Technical Review Committee and forming the Nominating Technical Review Committee.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Rochester Hills City Council hereby dissolves the Citizen Appointment Process Technical Review Committee, and in accordance with Article VII, Section .02 of the Rochester Hills City Council Rules of Procedure, creates the Nominating Technical Review Committee to develop and implement a citizen nominating process to be incorporated with the committee appointment process that takes place in December 2020. The Nominating Technical Review Committee is formed, as follows:
1) Purpose and Charge:
a. The purpose of the committee is to develop and implement a citizen nominating process.
b. The Nominating TRC will be tasked with creating more citizens involvement on the City's numerous Boards and Commissions by:
- Adding information in the water bill on how to apply for a city committee
- Promoting the committee volunteer options on the city's website, cable channel, and social media channels
- City Council members reaching out to residents to solicit their participation
2) Membership:
a. Three (3) City Council members are appointed to this committee; Theresa Mungioli, David Walker, and Susan Bowyer
b. One (1) Administrative member; Leanne Scott, Deputy Clerk
c. Term of appointment; the term shall be for one year
