Support for a grant application to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) regarding property acquisition, approximately 39.3 acres, located on the southeast corner of Sheldon/Mead Roads

Whereas, the Green Space Advisory Board (GSAB) has reviewed, scored and recommended the acquisition of the property, approximately 39.3 acres, located at the southeast corner of Sheldon/Mead Roads; and
Whereas, local units of government are eligible to submit a matching grant application to MNRTF for land acquisition projects that protect environmental importance or scenic beauty; and
Whereas, GSAB, as part of their public meeting on June 23, 2009, received input about the MNRTF grant application;
Therefore Be It Resolved, that GSAB fully supports the Administration's effort to submit a grant application to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund to acquire the Sheldon/Mead Road property and supports the use of the Green Space Millage Funds as the match.
