Proclamation in Recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Rochester Area Neighborhood House

Whereas, in 1968 Rochester Area Neighborhood House was founded by local communities of faith as a nonprofit human services organization to meet the needs of neighbors during times of hardship; and
Whereas, Neighborhood House has helped others through the creation and ongoing operation of a food pantry and clothes closet, as well as providing transportation services, counseling services, job skills training, financial management seminars, and short-term financial assistance; and
Whereas, the selfless support of countless volunteers, local organizations and social service agencies has actively contributed to the ongoing success of Neighborhood House; and
Whereas, for 50 years Neighborhood House has intentionally and steadfastly served thousands of our neighbors during their time of greatest need.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that on this day, October 8, 2018, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Rochester Hills hereby recognize the invaluable work done by Rochester Area Neighborhood House, under the direction of Executive Director Kathy Losinski and thank the staff, directors, volunteers, communities of faith, civic organizations, local business partners, sponsors and donors for 50 years of dedication to moving neighbors in need toward self-sufficiency in the greater Rochester Hills area.
