Proclamation in recognition of Rochester Community Schools
Body
Whereas, every year the United States Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools; and
Whereas, the National Blue Ribbon School Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence; and
Whereas, the National Blue Ribbon School Award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content and individual growth; and
Whereas, Van Hoosen Middle School is one of eight schools in the State of Michigan to be named a National Blue Ribbon School for its academic excellence, exemplary teaching, and high level of student learning.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills hereby recognize the administrators, educators, students, and parents of Van Hoosen Middle School for their ongoing excellence in educating their students, and congratulate them on being named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon Award winning school.
Be It Further Resolved, that the Mayor and City Council call upon our citizens to recognize and acknowledge the important contribution Rochester Community Schools makes to our community both today and in the years to come.
